International admissions

Entry requirements vary depending on the country an applicant is applying from and what course they are applying for. You will be redirected to your regional entry requirements after filling in the form on the right.

In order to obtain a Student Visa, International students will need to demonstrate that they have the correct level of English Language to study in the UK. Typically, students are required to have an IELTS of 6.0 overall, with a minimum of 5.5 in each component for undergraduate study. For Postgraduate courses, students are required to have an IELTS score of 6.5 with a minimum of 5.5 in each component. Please note some courses might require a higher level of English.

Pre-sessional English courses

Coventry University offers pre-sessional English courses to help students gain the required language skills for progression onto their Bachelor’s or Master’s course.
You can book to take a Coventry University English Language test if you:

  • Hold a conditional offer for study at Coventry University, Coventry University London, CU Coventry or CU Scarborough from the International Office
  • Have NOT taken the Coventry University English Language test in the last 2 months for the same academic intake
  • Have NOT undertaken a pre-sessional English course at Coventry University in the last 2 months.
  • To hold a valid IELTS certificate with a minimum of component of 5.0 for entry onto an undergraduate course or a minimum component of 5.5 for entry onto a postgraduate course. An IELTS certificate is valid for 2 years from the test date.

Coventry University Sports Scholarships

Coventry University is proud to offer Sports Scholarships to talented student athletes from the EU and overseas. Sports Scholarships are awarded competitively to approximately 40-45 students each year who have the sporting ability to represent the University at a high level (national or above). To be considered for one of these scholarships you must be competing in a sport which is part of the BUCS Sport, Olympic Sports or Paralympic Sports programmes.

We offer two levels of support depending on the level of performance. Level 1 is worth £1,500 per year and level 2 is worth £3,000 per year. Each level consists of 50% cash funding and 50% towards support services.

Territory Award

We want to encourage ambitious students from selected territories to study with us at Coventry University. We know how much the costs of tuition fees, living expenses, accommodation are in real terms. So we’ve secured extra financial support to help students to afford a Coventry University degree.

This award offers £1,500 fee reductions to students from one of the selected territories.
